The landscape of sustainability-related standards and regulations is evolving swiftly, necessitating REIT managers to stay well-informed and adept in their readiness efforts. Sincere thanks to Chan Yen San and her team at KPMG Singapore for their timely update to our REIT audience yesterday regarding the latest developments in this area. Chan Yen San explained the key points of IFRS S1 (General Requirements for Disclosure of Sustainability-related Financial Information) and IFRS S2 (Climate-related Disclosures), which were issued in June 2023 by the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) and how REIT managers can bridge the gap between TCFD/GRI and ISSB. She also highlighted the recommendations of the Sustainability Reporting Advisory Committee (SRAC) on the roadmap for climate-related disclosures for Singapore companies.

We are organizing an in-person 1-day course specifically designed for aspiring and new directors of REIT Managers to equip them with the foundational knowledge required for this role. As Singapore REITs have a trust structure, potential directors of a REIT manager need additional understanding with regard to REIT regulations, taxation, accounting and management that go beyond that required by directors of other listed companies. The course will go over the unique aspects of being a director of a REIT manager and is taught by senior practitioners from the REIT industry.
Senior market participants working in REITs and other companies, fund managers, analysts, and other market participants are also welcome to register!
Our refreshed & updated Online Rules & Ethics Course for 2023 is now open for registration!
Similar to previous years, the course is designed such that you can work through the different modules at your own pace and time. CMS licensees will be awarded 6 core SFA CPD hours on successful completion of your selected 6 modules.
We have 14 modules on offer this year (compared to 11 modules in 2022).
Please note that while the course is recognized by IBF to fulfil 6 core CPD hours, there is no subsidy available this year.
As a gentle reminder, all Capital Market Service (CMS) licensees are required to complete 9 CPD hours every calendar year, of which 6 hours have to be on Rules & Ethics. However, do note that the course is not limited to CMS licensees and can be useful for anyone involved in the S-REIT sector.
