What a memorable day it was yesterday as the Singapore REIT industry came together to celebrate the 20th anniversary of our sector! There was energy and excitement in the air! Speeches by SGX CEO Loh Boon Chye and REITAS President Low Chee Wah reminded us of how far the industry has come through the collaborative efforts of all market players while the auspicious lion dance performance and ceremonial gong further elevated our spirits! We crowned all that with a commemorative video produced by REITAS to celebrate this happy occasion!
This in-person seminar was held on 30 August (8.30am-1.30pm) on “What you need to know as an Independent Director of a REIT manager” which focused on How Boards can drive the Sustainability Agenda.
This is a prescribed course that directors may attend to fulfil the new SGX requirements with regard to director’s training on sustainability. It was also our second and final run this year for this seminar.
While the seminar is specially designed for Independent Directors of REIT managers, we welcome registration from senior management and anyone else who may find the session useful.
Topics include the MAS Guidelines on Environment Risk Management, Sustainable Buildings, Sustainability Reporting, Sustainable Finance and Benchmarking ESG performance.
Registration for the second batch of our refreshed & updated Online Rules & Ethics Course 2022 for completion by 31 December 2022 is now open! If you have not registered yet, now is the time to do so!
Similar to last year, the course is designed such that you can work through the different modules at your own pace and time. CMS licensees will be awarded 6 core SFA CPD hours on successful completion of your selected 6 modules.
We have a total of 11 modules on offer this year which includes one brand new module (on Tax) and two expanded modules (on Environment Risk Management and Technology Risk Management, Outsourcing Management & Business Continuity Management). This is in addition to updated and refreshed modules from last year.
The only difference from the earlier batch (which was till 30 June 2022) is the revised IBF subsidy for those in the below 40 age group which has been reduced from 80% to 50%. The rate of subsidy is maintained at 90% for those in the aged 40 and above age group.
As a gentle reminder, all Capital Market Service (CMS) licensees are required to complete 9 CPD hours every calendar year, of which 6 hours have to be on Rules & Ethics. However, do note that the course is not limited to CMS licensees and can be useful for anyone involved in the S-REIT sector.
