We resumed our face-to-face courses last week (after a webinar-filled 2020!) with our popular REIT management course. It was so satisfying to see leading industry practitioners and enthusiastic participants physically gather together (all masked and with proper safe-distancing) for two intense days of learning and sharing! The 40 seats available for this session were quickly snapped up and given the keen interest we hope to organize another session in the second half of this year.

Mr Kelvin Chow, Chief Executive Officer of the REIT Manager of Lendlease Global Commercial REIT. shared his views on the retail/office outlook at the webinar today.
At the webinar today, attendees learned more about Keppel DC REIT, the first pure-play data centre REIT listed in Asia. Mr Chua Hsien Yang, Chief Executive Officer of the REIT Manager also shared his insights on the data centre industry, and how the REIT is positioned to pursue growth opportunities, diversify risks and maintain growth momentum.

We had a virtual session of close to 100 people comprising mainly Independent Directors as well as C-suite and senior management from 26 REITs at our annual flagship event for Independent Directors of REIT Managers. Thank you Boon Gin Tan, CEO of SGX RegCo for gracing the occasion as Guest of Honour and for your thoughtful speech.
The focus of this year’s session was on issues arising from Covid-19 and covered valuation issues, financial position & audit considerations, notice on cyber-hygiene and legal issues. Heartfelt thanks to all the presenters – Chee Keong Yeow, Kyra Mattar, Keng Chiam Tan, Evelyn Wee and Norman Ho.
