The REIT Association of Singapore (REITAS) held its 7th AGM virtually on 25 September to elect its new Executive Committee (Exco) members following the end of the two-year term of the preceding Exco.
The incoming Exco has elected Mr Jonathan Yap, President, CapitaLand Financial, CapitaLand Group as the new REITAS President following the end of term of current President Mr Andrew Lim, Group Chief Financial Officer, CapitaLand Limited.
REITAS Exco comprises of nine elected members and two co-opted members. For the 2020-22 term, the members are:

Mr Chia Nam Toon (Treasurer)
Ms Eng-Kwok Seat Moey (Vice President and Chair, Promotions sub-committee)
Mr Chua Hsien Yang (Vice President and Chair, Regulatory sub-committee)
Mr Low Chee Wah (Vice President and Chair, Professional Development sub-committee)
Mr Tham Kuo Wei (Vice President and Chair, Education and Research sub-committee)
Mr Jonathan Quek (Member)
Ms Jill Smith (Member)
Ms Lim Gek Khim (Co-opted Member)
Mr Simon Garing (Co-opted Member)
The two co-opted members are Ms. Lim Gek Khim who also served on the previous Exco, and Mr. Simon Garing who is a new entrant to REITAS Exco. Mr. Garing is the CEO of Cromwell EREIT Management Pte. Ltd., the manager of Cromwell European REIT (CEREIT). The newly appointed Exco believes that inputs from the two co-opted members will be valuable when liaising with the authorities on tax and regulatory matters, crafting new initiatives and understanding the perspectives of REITs with properties overseas.

Virtual Conference
The first online edition of REIT Symposium was conducted successfully over the weekend with more than 2,200 people logging in throughout the day via zoom for the day-long event comprising of presentations, fireside chats and panel discussion! This exceeds the ~1300 people who attended this event face to face in previous years – a clear advantage of going digital!
