SGX-DBSV-REITAS Singapore Corporate Day was held in Bangkok on 7 September 2018. Senior management from 12 REITs participated in the event alongside 67 Thai institutional and high net worth investors from 33 companies. The day was packed with one on one and group meetings and included a lunch time presentation by Nikko Asset Management followed by a panel discussion on REIT ETFs.

The 3rd annual Citi-REITAS-SGX C-Suite Singapore REITs and Sponsors Forum took place in Singapore on 23 August. As in previous years, the format featured one-on-one and small group meetings. This year, we expanded the corporate day to include Hong Kong on 24 August.
Key highlights include a key note luncheon address by Mr Loh Boon Chye, CEO of Singapore Exchange, followed by an insightful presentation by Ms Tricia Song, Director and Head of Research Singapore, Colliers International, on the outlook for Singapore’s Office, Industrial & Residential markets. Thank you both!
A total of 22 REITs, 4 sponsors, 83 institutional investors from 57 companies participated over the 2-day event. Our appreciation goes to Citi and SGX for co-organizing the event.
We had a good session for our on-going outreach to retail investors in collaboration with SGX. In addition to learning about the basics of investing in REITs, attendees heard presentations from Mr Goh Toh Sim, CEO of EC World REIT and Ms Wang Mei Ling, Vice President – Investor Relations of Frasers Commercial Trust. The session concluded with an Q&A session using the Pigeon Hole App!

REITAS co-organized a second property tour for retail investors to Ascott Orchard, one of Ascott Residence Trust’s Singapore properties. Participants enjoyed the tour around the premium serviced residence and gained an understanding of how the property is managed. The tour was organized in conjunction with SGX Academy and Ascott Residence Trust.

Our inaugural REITAS conference was packed with stimulating discussions, insightful perspectives and frank sharing by all participants. Industry leaders gathered together to discuss a wide range of topics affecting S-REITs. We also took the opportunity to present a token of appreciation to Mr. Chua Tiow Chye, Founding President of REITAS (2014-2018) to thank him for his years of service.

We had great turnout at our first SGX-REITAS Global Education seminar on understanding REITs with overseas exposure. The country of focus was Australia. This seminar series is unique as it aims to take retail investors deeper into the overseas portfolios of Singapore REITs.
