REITAS concluded another successful run of our 2-day REIT Management Course. Senior executives from our REIT and associate members took 51 participants through 9 comprehensive modules covering all key aspects of REIT Management.

Over the weekend, 1200 retail investors filled a hall in Suntec to hear from CEOs of various REIT managers about their business and discuss key trends in the REIT sector. Investors also got a chance to visit the booths of different REITs and talk to senior representatives from the company. Great to see so much interest in Singapore REITs!

REITAS co-organized a property tour for retail investors to one of Ascott Residence Trust’s Singapore properties – Ascott Orchard. Participants were shown around the premium serviced residence and got a chance to better understand how the the property is managed. The tour was co-organized with SGX Academy and Ascott Residence Trust.

We had another well attended session yesterday for our on-going outreach to retail investors in collaboration with SGX. In addition to learning about the basics of investing in REITs, attendees heard presentations from Mr Victor Tan, CEO of First REIT and Mr Wong Han Siang, CFO of Lippo Malls Indonesia Retail Trust. A lively Q&A session was the perfect end to an educational evening using the Pigeon Hole App!
REITAS and DBS jointly hosted an event to connect REIT managers and DBS’ Private Bank clients. There were insightful presentations by Derek Tan, DBS Group Research, Kevin Chee, CEO of CapitaLand Commercial Trust Management Ltd., Cindy Chow, CEO of Mapletree Greater China Commercial Trust Management Ltd. and Jill Smith, CEO of Manulife US Real Estate Management Pte. Ltd.
We had a great turnout at our 5th AGM. We have a new Exco and a new President. Founding President Mr Chua Tiow Chye retires as President after serving the association since inception. Thank you for your dedicated service and for providing REITAS with a strong foundation!
