The finals of the REITs Strategy Challenge 2026 were successfully held on Saturday. REITAS was pleased to co-organise the challenge with the Institute of Real Estate and Urban Studies (IREUS), National University of Singapore, SGX Group, Keppel Ltd., and the Business Real Estate Network (BREN).

The competition attracted strong participation from students across six local universities, with 65 teams registering and 47 teams submitting their presentations. Participants were tasked to assume the role of an EQDP fund manager, identify a Singapore-listed REIT for investment, develop an investment thesis, and propose strategies to unlock further value.

The challenge provided students with valuable exposure to real-world REIT investment considerations, including portfolio quality, valuation, capital structure, asset enhancement, capital recycling, and long-term unitholder value. The quality of research, analysis, and presentations demonstrated by the students was impressive, making the competition highly competitive.

REITAS would like to congratulate the winning teams and thank all participants, judges, and advisors for their contributions. The challenge continues to serve as an important platform to nurture interest in REITs, real estate, and capital markets, while fostering the next generation of industry talent.

The REITs Symposium 2026, jointly organised by ShareInvestor Pte Ltd, InvestingNote, and REITAS, returns this year with an engaging full-day programme for investors.

What sets this event apart is the direct access to industry insights. Participants will hear from REIT managers, industry experts, and fellow investors — all in one place — offering diverse perspectives and strategies to help build stronger income portfolios.

Programme

REITAS is organising a seminar on “Energy Resilience and ESG Credibility: Navigating the Next Phase for S-REITs”, supported by Knight Frank and PwC Singapore.

As energy volatility reshapes the operating landscape and expectations around sustainability reporting continue to evolve, S-REITs are navigating two important shifts — strengthening energy resilience and enhancing the credibility of ESG disclosures. This session will explore what this means in practice, from Singapore’s energy outlook and its implications for REIT managers, to the steps needed to strengthen assurance readiness.

REITAS was pleased to once again partner with DBS Private Bank for our annual DBS–REITAS Private Banking Luncheon, bringing together REIT management teams and private banking clients for a thoughtful afternoon of discussion on the evolving S-REIT landscape.

The programme began with a “Meet the Management” session featuring six S-REITs and providing investors with the opportunity for direct engagement with management teams.

The luncheon programme opened with welcome remarks from Mr Shee Tse Koon, Group Executive and Group Head, Consumer Banking & Wealth Management, DBS Bank, and Nupur Joshi, CEO of REITAS. This was followed by a REITs market update by Derek Tan, Head of Property, DBS Group Research — always a much-anticipated segment of the annual luncheon given his comprehensive and practical take on the sector and where investors may want to focus. The programme then continued with two C-suite panel discussions on key themes shaping the sector.

The panel discussions covered:

• “From Bricks to Bytes – Reshaping Workspace Requirements, Data Centres and Industrial Spaces”, featuring Chua Hsien Yang of Keppel REIT and Loh Hwee Long of Keppel DC REIT, moderated by Dale Lai

• “What’s New in Living?”, featuring Serena Teo of CapitaLand Ascott Trust and Tony Bin of Centurion Accommodation REIT, moderated by Geraldine Wong

We were also pleased to have a strong presence of REIT CEOs and C-suite leaders throughout the luncheon, creating further opportunities for investors and industry leaders to engage and exchange perspectives.

The discussions reflected several themes currently shaping the sector — portfolio repositioning, the resilience of Singapore assets, growing selectivity around overseas exposure, and the increasing importance of structural growth areas such as data centres and living-sector accommodation.
